↘ Nouryon executive vice president and CFO Renier Vree unexpectedly passed away on June 27, the company said in a statement. “Renier was there at the creation of Nouryon and played an instrumental role in shaping Nouryon to become a global specialty chemicals leader,” the company said. Sander Bovee, vice president, control and treasury, at Nouryon, will lead an interim office of the CFO.

↘ Shell has confirmed that Machteld de Haan has become the company’s new executive vice president/chemicals and products, effective July 1. She succeeds Robin Mooldijk, who was appointed projects and technology director at Shell, also effective July 1. With a Shell career spanning 25 years, de Haan has managed a number of businesses across the company’s downstream organization.
↘ PPG Industries has named Alisha Bellezza as vice president, global automotive coatings, effective July 17. Bellezza will report to Kevin Braun, senior vice president, industrial coatings, who will succeed Vincent Robin, who is set to retire on July 31. Bellezza joins from the Chemours Company, where she served, most recently, as president, thermal and specialized solutions.

↘ LBB Specialties has named Panos Yannopoulos as senior vice president, industrial specialties. Yannopoulos has over 30 years of experience in the industrial specialty chemicals sector, most recently as vice president advanced materials.
↘ ExxonMobil Corp. has announced that Toby Hamblin will be the company’s Fife ethylene plant site manager in Mossmorran, Scotland. Hamblin has worked with ExxonMobil in the US and Canada for over 23 years, most recently in its Beaumont, Texas, refinery.
↘ Bergeson & Campbell, P.C. has announced that managing partner Lynn Bergeson has been awarded the rank of Band 1, in Chambers USA Guide 2023. This is her 19th year earning top marks from Chambers USA. Bergeson counsels corporations and trade associations on a wide range of issues pertaining to chemical hazard, risk assessment and evolving regulatory and policy matters, including her work on the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA).
