Kemira Oyj said it plans to close its manufacturing site at Vancouver, British Columbia, that produces process and functional chemicals for the company’s pulp and paper segment. Production at the site is expected to end during the first half of 2025 and will move to Kemira’s Washougal, Washington, site where the company also produces process and functional chemicals, the company said.
“The intended move is expected to streamline operational efficiency in Kemira’s North American operations in response to changing market conditions. The consolidation is not related to the planned changes to Kemira’s new operating model and organization structure announced during [the third quarter of] 2024,” Kemira said.
