Toray Industries Inc. affiliate Toray Advanced Composites (Morgan Hill, California) has announced the acquisition of Gordon Plastics LLC’s (Englewood, Colorado) assets, technology and intellectual property. Financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Toray said the investment brings expanded development, testing and production capacity for continuous fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composite unidirectional tapes and enhances Toray’s capability to process higher-melting-temperature polymer systems.
Gordon Plastics’ production facility, located in the Denver area, will operate as a satellite research and development and production facility as part of Toray Advanced Composites.
Toray Advanced Composites is a producer of advanced thermoplastic and thermoset composite materials. Its broad product portfolio is incorporated into products for aerospace, space, communications, automotive, consumer and industrial applications.
